Is a popular Japanese dish consisting of prepared vinegared rice, which is usually topped with fish, vegetables, and other ingredients. The word “sushi” means “sour”, which reflects sushi’s origins of being preserved in salt. Since Japan is surrounded by sea, seafood has always been widely consumed as well as rice. According to sources, it was oriented from china in the 3rd to 5th centuries. In those days it was called Narezushi. Narezushi is said to appear in Japan in the 8th century. Over the years more sushi stalls popped up throughout the world and became popular meals worldwide.

Oshizushi is also called “pressed” or ” box” sushi. A wooden mold called an Oshibako is used to make it. Vinegared rice and other ingredients are filled into the box to shape the mold, then the cutting process starts. It is cut into bite-sized pieces that can be eaten with chopsticks.
